PREPARE Participates in Cyprus National Celebration Marking 10 Years in the European Rural Parliament Movement

Posted on

PREPARE is participating in the Cyprus National Celebration marking 10 years of the country’s participation in the European Rural Parliament (ERP) movement, hosted by the Troodos Network. The event is widely recognised as the Rural Parliament of Cyprus and brings together approximately 100 participants from civil society organisations, business, and the public sector.

PREPARE is represented by Miodrag Matavulj, together with Panayiotis Papadopoulos from the Troodos Network. The programme includes a joint session of the three co-founders of the European Rural Parliament: PREPARE, ERCA, and ELARD.

During this session, PREPARE, alongside Tom Jones, President of ERCA, and Piotr Sadłocha, President of ELARD, will present the history, vision, structure, and functioning of the European Rural Parliament. The session will also provide information on the 6th European Rural Parliament in Inverurie and its Declaration, highlighting the role of the ERP in strengthening rural democracy and participation across Europe.

The event also showcases good practices in local development from the Troodos Network, demonstrating how community-led approaches and long-term cooperation contribute to sustainable rural development at local, national, and European levels.
