PREPARE and ERCA Strengthen Rural Dialogue and Cooperation in Cyprus

Posted on

PREPARE and the European Rural Community Alliance (ERCA) are currently in Cyprus, represented by Miodrag Matavulj and Tom Jones, President of ERCA, to strengthen dialogue on rural development, rural democracy, and European cooperation.

During their stay in Limassol, PREPARE and ERCA presented their organisations and the European Rural Parliament (ERP) on a local television station. The interview focused on the importance of rural voices, the role of civil society organisations, and the contribution of the ERP movement to participatory rural governance across Europe.

The visit also included a meeting with the President of Mesoyios College, held together with Panayiotis Papadopoulos from the Troodos Network. Discussions focused on the role of education in rural development, the need to strengthen cooperation between academic institutions and rural communities, and ways to improve skills, innovation, and learning opportunities in rural areas.

These activities highlight the importance of cooperation between civil society, education institutions, and European rural networks in addressing current and future challenges facing rural territories.
