The Rural Pact platform has just launched a new Community Group on Energy Transition in Rural Areas – a collaborative space designed for local and regional authorities, practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholdersworking to ensure fair and sustainable energy planning across rural Europe.

This initiative directly supports the EU’s Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas, bringing together actors who want to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and co-develop solutions for the energy challenges rural territories face.

By becoming part of this group, you will:

  • Bridge knowledge gaps
Connect with peers and experts to access the latest insights, strategies, and EU initiatives on rural energy transition.

  • Build a learning community
Exchange experiences with other rural actors tackling similar challenges, from energy poverty to renewable energy projects.

  • Share tools and good practices

A Step Towards Fair and Sustainable Rural Energy

The energy transition is a cornerstone of Europe’s green and digital transformation. For rural areas, it brings both opportunities and challenges: new renewable energy projects, better energy efficiency, and greater resilience, but also the need for fair access, investment, and inclusive decision-making.

This new community group is a practical tool to empower rural stakeholders, ensuring that no rural territory is left behind in Europe’s path to a sustainable future.
