PREPARE is proud to be a key partner in the ongoing EU-Rural Innovation Forum (EU-RIF), held under the FUTURAL Project, a Horizon Europe initiative focused on fostering innovation, resilience, and sustainability in rural regions across the continent.
This two-day event brings together a vibrant mix of stakeholders – from grassroots rural innovators to EU-level project leaders – for workshops, dialogue, and co-creation activities aimed at shaping the future of rural Europe.
Day 2 Highlights – Collaboration in Action
Today’s sessions were buzzing with energy and insight. We saw inspiring exchanges with innovation partners including SMART ERA, SHINE 2Europe, Ruractive, and FabLab Barcelona / IAAC. Together, we explored ways to align projects and unlock synergies that can drive transformative change in rural communities.
A key focus was on co-designing sustainable business models – balancing technological innovation with resilience and local community value. These collaborative sessions sparked creative approaches to real-world challenges.
PREPARE’s Voice at EU-RIF
Kim Smedslund, representing PREPARE, delivered an insightful intervention on capacity building for digital competences in rural areas. His contribution highlighted critical gaps, shared best practices, and showcased programmes that are already making a tangible impact on rural digital inclusion.
