PREPARE is excited to announce our participation in the innovative RURBANIVE project, a comprehensive initiative aimed at fostering synergies between rural and urban areas through immersive technologies and strategic innovations.
About RURBANIVE
RURBANIVE stands for “RUral-uRBAN synergies emerged in an immersIVE innovation ecosystem.” This ambitious project seeks to tackle the unique challenges faced by rural and urban communities by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and participatory processes. The project is supported by the European Union and involves a diverse consortium of partners from across Europe.
Key Objectives
The primary goal of RURBANIVE is to bridge the gap between rural and urban areas, enhancing their cooperation and mutual development. The project focuses on six key domains, each represented by a Rural/Urban Enabler (RUE):
- Circular Bioeconomy
- Ecosystem and Biodiversity Restoration
- Improved Logistics and Shortened Value Chains
- User Engagement, Empowerment, Society, and Territorial Awareness
- Culture, Landscape, and Heritage Access and Promotion
- Enhanced Mobility
PREPARE’s Involvement
As a key partner in the RURBANIVE project, PREPARE will play a crucial role in several areas:
1. Participatory Processes in Rural/Urban co-Creation Labs (RUCLs):
We will engage rural and urban stakeholders in participatory processes, ensuring that their needs and insights are integrated into the development of innovative solutions.
2. Policy Recommendations:
PREPARE will contribute to the creation of evidence-based policy recommendations aimed at enhancing rural/urban synergies. These recommendations will be informed by the participatory processes and immersive technologies utilized in the project.
3. Community of Practice Suite:
We will facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration through the Community of Practice Suite, a virtual environment that supports online interaction, dialogue, and co-creation among stakeholders.
The Vision
RURBANIVE aims to create an inclusive and sustainable future where rural and urban communities benefit from shared resources, knowledge, and innovative solutions. By using immersive technologies, the project seeks to minimize distances and foster deeper connections between these communities.
What to Expect
Over the next 48 months, PREPARE and our partners will work diligently to:
- Develop and implement the six RUEs.
- Engage over 700 participants in Rural/Urban co-Creation Labs.
- Launch digital campaigns and immersive applications to visualize and realize the project’s innovations.
- Produce actionable policy recommendations and innovative business models to ensure the project’s long-term impact.
Stay tuned for regular updates on our progress, insights from the field, and opportunities to get involved. Together, we can build stronger, more resilient communities that thrive through collaboration and innovation.
